We
arrived at our home in Mexico to find it full of balloons and
with a big sign on the wall:
WELCOME
HOME TIM & ANNETTE
A friend had left us a complete meal ready to heat 'n eat in the
refrigerator and our dogs were bounding all over the place with
smiles on their muzzles - if that's possible :-)
That
evening several people came by to welcome us home. And if that
wasn't enough to make us feel cared about, the next day about
20 kids from our church youth group threw us a surprise "Welcome
Back" party.
So
if you were the one praying that we'd feel well received upon
our arrival... thank you!
Since
we've been back my days have been consumed with my responsibilities
as editor of our Internet publication and coordinator of the team
of 10 people who contribute to it. I
had forgotten how "challenging" it is to be the one where the
buck stops. I have to encourage, coordinate, guide, praise, prod,
train and troubleshoot. Making the people the priority while getting
the work done on time requires wisdom and patience -- a lot more
than I have -- so if you think of it, I'd appreciate your prayers
in that area.
As
I read over this month's articles, I am overwhelmed with the quality
of our columnists. Each one contributes something important to
the thousands of youth leaders who read their articles each month,
and they communicate their content with a winsome, succinct style
that makes me proud.
